Shred City is AAA NAID Certified - What Does That Mean?

When it comes to document and media destruction, a Triple-A NAID certification is the highest accreditation a business can receive from i-SIGMA (International Secure Information Governance & Management Association).

On i-SIGMA’s website, they describe what this certification is:

NAID AAA Certification® verifies secure data destruction companies’ services’ compliance with all known data protection laws through scheduled and surprise audits by trained, accredited security professionals, fulfilling customers’ regulatory due diligence obligations.

Having the AAA rating means that a company is compliant in accordance with all HIPAA, FACTA, and related privacy laws. And with this compliance in document disposal, the business fulfills the client’s legal responsibility to follow their regulations. Meaning: by having our company take you or your business’s sensitive documents off your hands, the information shredded is guaranteed to be appropriately handled and discarded!

AAA NAID Certification covers hard drive destruction as well, so your physical and digital data are both protected when you choose a business with that accreditation.

Still unsure? We can break down how each of our services work, step-by-step.

How does your information stay secure with Shred City?

If you choose to go with our onsite services:

We come to your location and load all the documents and/or hard drives into our mobile truck, which shreds all the material inside via pierce-and-tear shredding, making it impossible for the papers or devices to be put back together and read. There is a camera mounted on the side so you can view the process. We then give you a Certificate of Destruction (COD) for your records and would certify compliance were you or your business to ever be audited.

If you choose to go with the offsite services:

We come to your location with our van and load all the documents in the back, which is then locked up by our security officer. At the end of the day, the driver takes the boxes or bins to our facility and the documents are shredded at end of the same day. Once they have been shredded at the end of the day, we email you the COD.

If you choose to drop off your documents at one of our locations:

After we weigh everything, the documents are locked in one of our secure bins and are shredded at the end of the day by one of our mobile shredders. You are given a COD for your records.

No matter which option you choose, your information is secure with Shred City.
